Wei Wang is currently a professor jointly appointed by the Department of the History of Science and the Department of Philosophy at the School of Humanities, Tsinghua University. He earned his PhD in philosophy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
His research centers on philosophy of science, with interests spanning scientific explanation, laws of nature, causation, philosophy of biology, and philosophy of social sciences. He is the author of two English monographs, Explanation, Laws, and Causation and Philosophy of Science: An Introduction to the Central Issues, both published by Routledge.
He serves as Vice President of the Chinese Society for Dialectics of Nature, President of Chinese Philosophy of Science Association, and is on the editorial board of the international journal Biology and Philosophy.
