I am a philosopher of the cognitive sciences specializing in embodied and situated theories of cognition, with a particular focus on ecological (neo-Gibsonian) psychology. My research aims to develop a neo-Gibsonian approach to comparative cognition and to investigate how socio-cultural norms shape and structure human agency. I am also interested in the philosophy of comparative psychology, including its scientific problems (the underdetermination of theory by data, the ecological validity of the studies, the influence of anthropo-biases in our theorizing), and current debates on the potential cognitive status of non-neural organisms (e.g., plants and bacteria).
