David Raubenheimer

Leonard P. Ullman Chair in Nutritional Ecology

University of Sydney

David is Professor of Nutritional Ecology at the University of Sydney, Australia. His research focuses on how nutrition mediates the interactions between animals and their environments, and the consequences both. David’s approach is comparative: he has studied over 40 species, including laboratory-based experiments on animal model systems, observational studies of free-ranging non-human animals (particularly primates), and both experimental and observational studies of humans. He has a particular interest in integrating ecological and evolutionary theory into nutrition, as well as developing modelling frameworks to guide interdisciplinarity in the field. David is based in the School of Life and Environmental sciences and heads the Nutrition Theme at the Charles Perkins Centre, an interdisciplinary research center for obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease at the University of Sydney.
