David Kaplan is an Associate Professor in the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University and an Associate Investigator in several interdisciplinary research centres, including the Macquarie University Minds and Intelligences Research Centre and the Performance and Expertise Research Centre.
His research examines the computational principles underlying motor control and motor learning. He also works on foundational questions about explanation, modelling, and methods in neuroscience.
He completed postdoctoral training in neuroscience at Washington University in St. Louis, including a James S. McDonnell Postdoctoral Fellowship, following a PhD at Duke University. Prior to Macquarie, he held an academic position at Monash University.
